Abstract 3,5-Dimethyl-N-［(1S,4S)-1,7,7-trimethylbicyclo［2.2.1］heptan-2-ylidene］aniline(1) was prepared by microwave-assisted condensation of 3,5-dimethylaniline with 2-camphonone. 1-(3,5-Dimethylphenyl)-1-［(1S,4S)-1,7,7-trimethylbicyclo［2.2.1］heptan-2-yl］hydrazine in total yield of 70.4% was synthesized by reduction of 1 by NaBH4 followed by amination with hydroxylamine O-sulfonic acid. The structures were confirmed by 1H NMR and ESI-MS.
